You have made it to this page because Google requested that you provide them with a Google Business Verification Video. Here are the instructions for providing Google with a video so you can get it right the first time!
1-Be prepared before making your Google Verification Video
Be at your brokerage and have all your documentation prepared. You will have only one to two minutes to create a quick video, so you’ll need to act swiftly. The video cannot be edited; it must be one continuous take. I recommend starting just outside your building, close to the front door. Quickly capture the exterior of the office any brokerage signage, and then enter through the front door.
Have a folder ready or lay out your license and any documentation on the front desk or in a conference room. You should include your business license, your brokerage agreement linking you to the office’s physical address, and your real estate license showing the brokerage address. You must demonstrate to Google that you are authorized to be at your brokerage location.
2-The three main requirements
Record your business details and create your Google Verification Video. Capture all three requirements in one continuous recording.
- Display Your Service Location: Show the surrounding area, such as street signs or neighboring businesses. Effective examples are signs promoting your business or recognizable street signs and landmarks nearby. Avoid using generic or unmarked land.
Your location should match the address you entered.
- Provide Evidence of Your Business: Show your name printed on business cards with the address of your brokerage. On a table, have your a copy of your real estate license with your brokerage address showing. Showcase branded equipment, promotional materials, or tools used in your service. Strong examples include filming yourself unlocking a company vehicle displaying your business name or featuring branded apparel worn by staff or customers.
Your business name should match the name you entered.
- Verify Management Authority: Access staff-only areas; unlock the entrance with your key card or a physical key. Capture footage of yourself delivering services or displaying relevant business documents. This could include items like business registration papers, invoices, or utility bills that reflect the name associated with your Business Profile.
You need to show you’re authorized to represent this business.
3-Two ways to start the video verification process
You can start the verification process from your computer, or you can opt to start the verification process directly from your cell phone.
Option A – Starting the Business Verification Video from your computer
From your desktop, here’s how to login to your Google Profile
- Log in to your Gmail account associated with your Google business profile.
- Click this link to access your Google Business Profile.
- Click the get verified button on the right side of the screen.
- Once you get the QR Code, scan it with your cell phone and go outside to start your recording.
NOTE: On your phone, you must be logged into the same Gmail account that is tied to your Google Business Profile.
Option B – Starting the Business Verification Video from your cell phone
Step 4 – Wait for Review
Once your video is uploaded, it will be reviewed. This process may take up to 5 business days.
If your verification is successful, you will receive a notification.
If the video verification fails, the “Get verified” button will reappear. Ensure your video meets all requirements and try again, or consider using a different verification method if available.
Tip: If your video is under review and you believe it fulfills all requirements, it’s best to wait for the verification outcome before submitting a new one. If you think you missed something in your video, you can delete the uploaded video and record a new one.
